It takes a pit bull mentality to do demolition work. Or bull dog, in our case. Bull Dog is the name of our demolition contractor, and they tore the living daylights out of the demolition work.

- Protecting the tenants from dust. This is may be the most important part of all.

- Some would call this an exploratory hole. I call it putting my boot through the drywall.

- We couldn’t just cut the slab out and let it fall, that would have been a disaster. We had to install some beefy shoring to carry the slab while it was removed.

- Demolishing the slab is actually pretty fun.

- Rebar is not as easy to cut as concrete. Plus I think this pic just looks cool.

- Light at the end of the tunnel.

- More concrete cutting. About 200 feet of it.

- A lot of the plumbing has to go in the basement floor. What a pain in the neck!

- Believe it or not, removing this window was the sketchiest part of the demo. We roped off the sidewalk and part of the street, just in case.

- We’re done. Hey look, someone put up Christmas lights!
