Framing is one of those often-overlooked aspects of construction. It usually gets covered up in the end, so why spend a lot of time worrying about it? Because everything else depends on the framing! We’re taking extra care to make sure our framing is square, plumb, and in the right location. Check out some of our progress in the pictures below. More to come soon.

- We have wood!

- I like ordering my wood from these guys. The quality of the wood is just better.

- The bundled lumber is literally slid off the back of the truck onto the ground. It’s frightening, but perfectly safe. (Or so they tell me.)

- The delivery driver gave me pencils. Pencils are like candy to framers.

- Bathroom walls. The heating unit gets installed above the bathroom, so the ceiling has to be shorter.

- The Active Room is taking shape.

- The entry door to the Active Room is framed in.

- Music Room mechanical closet. The sump pumps for the sewer and ground water will live here.

- Titus is getting ready to do some pre-cutting. I made him take his safety gear off so we could see his smile.

- Shoring poles are installed under the giant wood beams. We are installing massive steel beams so that we can get rid of the posts in the Active Room. Nobody wants to run into a great big wood post when they are playing. Ouch!
